Margaret J. "Marge" Palik, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 1st. She left behind a legacy of love, family, friendship, and a lifetime of exceptional writing.

Marge was the beloved wife of the late Dennis J. Palik, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and devotion to their family.

She was the dear mother of John Palik (Debra Fleming), Lauren (Palik) Alterman (Stuart), Victoria (Palik) Tifft (Quinten), and Kenneth Palik (Susan). She was the cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and the proud great-grandmother of 8 great-grandchildren.

Marge was preceded in death by her loving parents, Alfred and Ellen Jones, and by her sisters, Patricia Anderson and Barbara Brashear.

For decades, Marge served as the editor of The Hinckley Record, where she earned the admiration of her community as a remarkable journalist, gifted writer, and dedicated storyteller. Through her thoughtful reporting and commitment to local journalism, she chronicled the lives and events that shaped her community, leaving a lasting impact on countless readers.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marge embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. She loved traveling and treasured the many adventures she shared with family and friends. She was an exceptional bridge player whose sharp mind, competitive spirit, and love of the game brought her years of enjoyment and lasting friendships. She was an avid reader and loved knitting. Marge also took great pride in her Welsh heritage and deeply cherished the enduring relationships she maintained with her Welsh relatives, celebrating the traditions and family connections that meant so much to her.

Above all, Marge will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, wit, and unwavering dedication for her family. Her warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit enriched the lives of everyone who knew her.
