Gregory E Dickinson

Gregory E. Dickinson, age 83, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, surrounded by his family. Greg was the beloved husband of Jacquie (nee Matera); devoted father of Susan Dickinson, Laura Demma (Michael), and Patrick Dickinson; and cherished grandfather of Amanda Rivera (Luis), Thomas Shuboney, Erin Galbreath (Parker), Tyler Demma (deceased), Courtney Demma, Delaney Demma, and Zachary Dickinson. He was a proud great-grandfather to Callum Galbreath. Greg was a dear brother to Daniel Dickinson (Kelly) and Dores Witherspoon (Andrew), and a devoted son of the late Norbert and Dolores Dickinson. He is also lovingly remembered by his five nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins.

Above all else, Greg was a family man. He adored his children and grandchildren and took immense pride in each of them. His life was marked by perseverance and a deep commitment to growth. Though he left high school early, Greg later returned to his education, earning a master’s degree in clinical counseling and completing all coursework toward a PhD—an achievement that reflected his determination and passion for helping others.

Greg proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years, most notably as a medic. During his service, he was stationed aboard a ship near Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. In his free time, Greg found joy in simple pleasures. He loved playing golf, was an avid moviegoer, and remained a dedicated walker, faithfully completing five miles each day around his neighborhood. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, with his favorite journey being a tour of Egypt and Jordan.

Greg will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his quiet strength, and his lifelong pursuit of learning. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the wisdom he shared, and the deep love he leaves behind.

A gathering will be held at Faulhaber Funeral Home, 7915 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, on Saturday, February 7 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 1:30 pm
