Dr. Vojislav “George” Topalsky, age 64, of Pepper Pike, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends.

George devoted more than 35 years to medicine as a physician and healthcare leader. After earning both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Case Western Reserve University, he built a career marked by exceptional clinical judgment, genuine kindness, and the belief that caring for patients was both a privilege and a responsibility. He earned the trust of generations of patients and the respect of colleagues by combining medical excellence with humility, compassion, and integrity.

Beyond his profession, George was defined by how deeply he cared for people. He was energized by conversation, genuinely interested in everyone he met, and had a gift for bringing people together. He was a source of joy and a steady, reassuring presence, the person others turned to when life was difficult and who made problems feel manageable and burdens lighter.

He approached life with energy and curiosity, believing there was always more to learn and understand. That belief carried him through a lifetime of ever-changing interests. He was always reading, building, repairing, exploring, or teaching himself something new. He welcomed challenges, enjoyed solving problems, and moved from one project to the next with curiosity and enthusiasm, often accomplishing more in a day than seemed possible.

He stayed active through running, skiing, golf, tennis, and time outdoors, while remaining just as engaged mentally through reading philosophy, learning languages, playing chess, and the piano.

Restoring motorcycles became one of his greatest passions. He loved working with his hands and had the patience to take something complicated apart, understand it, and put it back together again. One of his most memorable adventures was a motorcycle journey from Belgrade, Serbia, to Mount Athos, Greece, reflecting both his adventurous spirit and his deep connection to his Serbian heritage and Orthodox faith.

Above all, George lived for his family. He shared forty years of marriage with his beloved wife, Hala, whose happiness and well-being were always central to his life. Together, they built a family that was his greatest source of pride and joy. He was a devoted father to Alexandra Topalsky (Dr. Ted Bowen), Dr. Krista Topalsky (Steven Boggins), and Danielle Topalsky.

For them, he always had time. If they called, he answered; if they needed him, he showed up. No matter how long the workday, when he walked through the door, the evening began again. He brought with him a warmth and happiness that filled the house and made ordinary evenings feel special.

George was the cherished son of the late Peter and Jelena Topalsky, née Todorović, and a beloved relative, mentor, colleague, and friend to many. The measure of his life is found not only in what he accomplished, but in the remarkable number of people who are better because they knew him.

The Topalsky family extends heartfelt gratitude to the relatives, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and caregivers whose prayers, kindness, and support have been an immeasurable source of comfort during this difficult time.
